UBC Media Relations

UBC Media Relations conveys news and information about UBC to the public through the news media and through this website.

We have two units within our team: University Affairs and Faculty Media Relations.

University Affairs works closely with UBC’s executives and administrators to communicate publicly on behalf of the university about institutional matters.

Faculty Media Relations works primarily with faculty members and other UBC scholars to draw public attention to newsworthy research findings, projects and people.

Both units collaborate with the UBC Okanagan newsroom to serve journalists who contact the university in search of information and/or expertise.

We are part of the broader UBC Communications portfolio, which also includes Brand and Marketing, and Internal Communications.
