Radio Canada quoted Michael Byers, the Canada Research Chair in Global Politics and International Law at UBC, about the appointment of Chrystia Freeland as Canada’s new minister of foreign affairs.
Byers said it is unlikely that Freeland will continue the policy to increase Arctic cooperation with Russia due to her strong opposition to Russian activities in Ukraine.
