Haida reconciliation totem pole heads to Vancouver

A totem pole commemorating the lives of children sent to residential schools will be raised at UBC in March rather than October, CBC reported.

The Musqueam band council, whose traditional lands include UBC, said the delay was because the carver, the band, and the university are still determining an appropriate location for the totem pole and ensuring that correct protocols are followed.
