The South China Morning Post featured Anandia Labs, which specializes in testing medical marijuana and using genomics for plant breeding.
Since pesticide use is a concern for product consumed by humans, the lab will use genomics to create pest-resistant strains.
“A lot of the chemicals that are used and are being found in cannabis products are because of fungal diseases,” said lab founder and UBC adjunct botany professor Jonathan Page.
