Bike and pedestrian-friendly city not friendly to disabled people

CBC quoted Allison Tom, a UBC education professor, for a story on the impact that a lack of parking has on disabled people in Vancouver.

“The focus on reducing the use of cars in the city has led to an attitude where people who are driving should be pressured, across the board, not to drive, by reducing parking for example,” she said.

The city said the number of accessible parking spaces in Vancouver ‘generally’ increases each year.
