QEW toll lanes met with strong demand – will it last?

The Globe and Mail interviewed Ashley Whillans, a UBC PhD candidate in social psychology, for a story on new toll lanes in Toronto.

The article questions the ability of pace-for-access driving lanes to stand the test of time. Whillans researches the relationship between time, money and happiness.

“Even in a sample of 900 millionaires, just under half say they use money to change the way they spend their time,” Willans said. “There’s a lot of reasons for this, but one reason is that people always think they’ll have more time in the future.”
