Liberals not necessarily advantaged by ranked ballot system

The Globe and Mail published a Canadian Press story quoting Kenneth Carty, a UBC political science professor emeritus, on the possibility of an electoral system of ranked ballots.

“My best guess, without doing a close riding-by-riding assessment, is that a preferential ballot would likely have produced a hung Parliament rather than a Liberal majority,” Carty said.

The story also appeared on Huffington Post, Global News, CP 24, Metro News, Castanet and the Kelowna Daily Courier.
