Lack of sleep problematic for teens

Almost one in three teens are not getting the recommended eight hours of sleep per night.

“What we’re concerned about is this creeping ‘sleepedemic’ where nearly a third of children and youth are reporting sleep deprivation,” Guy Faulkner, a UBC professor of Kinesiology told CBC. “Sleep deprivation is associated with a range of negative health problems and what we really want to do is act now before this problem gets larger.”
