The Ottawa Citizen published an op-ed by UBC political science master’s student Megan Dias on including diverse groups in electoral reform.
“Traditionally marginalized groups have a lot to gain from electoral reform. There tend to be more women and ethnic minorities elected under proportional systems than in winner-take-all ones,” she wrote. “A proportional system could also increase involvement of millennial voters.”
