Movement afoot on the North Shore

North Shore News interviewed Kay Teschke, a UBC professor at the school of population and public health, for a story on the shift back towards “active transportation.”

Active transportation, or getting around without a car, had been steadily declining for decades but new initiatives and infrastructure may be reversing that trend.

“There’s no question there’s a lot of loud voices against the bike infrastructure but when they’ve done polling, they’ve found the majorities are in favour so most people prefer this kind of thing,” she said.
