Business in Vancouver interviewed UBC’s Kevin Hanna for a story on the National Energy Board’s approval of the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion. Hanna is the director of UBC’s Centre for Environmental Assessment Research.
“I believe the final decision, all said and done, will be yes,” Hanna said of the federal government’s upcoming decision. “The Alberta economy is hurting; the pipeline is seen as being an answer, in part, to their problems. I don’t see that the government will say no.”
