Shame, fear and the spike in C-sections

The popularity of C-sections was the focus of a new National Post article. Experts say fears of vaginal delivery, lasting damage to pelvic muscles, and of risking the baby, have contributed to the spike in caesarian deliveries.

UBC professor emeritus Michael Klein says the science doesn’t support most of these fears. If the woman is healthy and the fetus is healthy, there are more health impacts on both the mother and baby if the woman chooses to have a C-section.
