How your surroundings could be killing you

TIME highlighted a World Health Organization study that linked the effects of air pollution to mortality rates. The report found that more than 12.5 million deaths worldwide each year can be attributed to unhealthy environments.

UBC’s Michael Brauer was quoted in the article. “One of the unique things about air pollution is that you can’t run, you can’t hide from it,” said Brauer. “But we know that if you improve air quality, everybody benefits from it.”
