Vancouver-area renters pushed away from transit corridors

Paul Kershaw, a UBC professor at the school of population and public health, spoke to the Globe and Mail about the impacts of the affordable housing crisis in Metro Vancouver.

Kershaw noted how the transition to renting is becoming more widespread.

“We need to recognize that that’s a major adaptation we are asking of the younger demographic in this region to make, and that’s happened very quickly, and we need public policy to meet them somewhere in middle,” he said.

Kershaw also spoke to Metro News on the topic of housing affordability.
