How the Canucks came calling for a UBC TBirds goalie

Breakfast Television interviewed a UBC hockey goaltender who signed a one-day NHL contract when he suited up for the Vancouver Canucks as an emergency backup goalie.

Matt Hewitt, a fourth-year sociology major, was called up because Canucks goaltender Ryan Miller was unable to play.

“It went by so fast, it was so surreal, but it was a dream come true,” he said.
