Abortion pill still unavailable in Canada

CBC News reported that a year after it was approved to be sold in Canada, the “abortion pill” is still not available to Canadian women.

UBC professor at the School of Population and Public Health Dr. Wendy Norman said the restrictions that require doctors to prescribe the drug are setting back progress in drug prescription safety.

“It’s an absolutely inexplicable regulation that’s against all of the progress in safety that we’ve made for drug prescriptions that are prescribed by physicians, but then dispensed by pharmacists who are the dispensing experts across Canada,” she said.
