The Canadian Press highlighted a tree canopy bus shelter proposed by UBC students.
Tabinda Shah, an urban forestry student, said the shelter would also help the environment as excess rainfall would drain away into the ground and recharge the water table. Daniel Roehr, a professor in the school of architecture and landscape architecture, added that while Vancouver has green roofs, most of them need to be irrigated. The proposed bus shelter would be self-sufficient.
The CP story appeared in the Globe and Mail, CTV, CBC, Ottawa Citizen, Vancouver Sun, Star Vancouver, Mingpao, and other media outlets.
