Sheila Woody, a UBC psychology professor, spoke to the Vancouver Sun about how fear can be fun in a safe situation.
“A kid whose parent is telling them a scary story together in bed at night knows they are safe. To have something unexpected occur during the context of a safe situation is fun, surprising, enjoyable,” she said.
