John Roosa, a UBC history professor, was quoted in a Smithsonian Magazine article about the politically motivated mass murders in Indonesia in 1965-66.
“We knew about these things more generally, but it’s great to have this information in black and white so it’s not just based on oral interviews with victims,” he told the New York Times.
