Kin Lo, a UBC Sauder School of Business accounting professor, spoke to CBC for an article about a woman who seemed to have been a victim of “churning,” an illegal practice of buying and selling securities solely to generate commissions.
Lo said he was “surprised to see that there were also quite a number of trades involving the more speculative penny stocks.”
