Bill McKellin, a UBC medical anthropologist and one of the founders of the Rare Disease Foundation, spoke to the Winnipeg Free Press for an article about children with rare diseases.
He said “(Patients) should recognize their experiences aren’t unique. The kinds of experiences — dealing with schools, health care and social services — are shared by a lot of other families.”
