Limiting cheap offshore labour doesn’t always create domestic jobs

Indo-Canadian Voice reported on UBC research that examined how access to cheap offshore labour due to the 1999 U.S.-China bilateral agreement affected innovation among U.S. companies.

Jan Bena and Elena Simintzi, professors at the UBC Sauder School of Business, argue that “public policy aimed at addressing the labour market challenges needs to be more nuanced and thought through.”
