Doug Mitchell, a former UBC law student and Thunderbirds football player, was honoured at the Valley First/UBC Okanagan Athletics Scholarship Breakfast, Kelowna Capital News reported.
Mitchell was later recruited by the BC Lions, served on the NHL’s Board of Governors, and has been the CFL Commissioner.
