The Tyee interviewed Michael Church, a UBC geography professor emeritus, about the potential ecological impacts of construction on the Massey Bridge if activities like dredging occur.
Church said dredging, river speed, channel erosion would increase the silt deposits in the Fraser estuary, and threaten the habitat of migratory shorebirds.
