Are naloxone kits really necessary for funeral workers?

Global interviewed Michael Krausz, a psychiatry researcher and addiction expert at UBC, after a spike in fentanyl overdose deaths prompted the BC Funeral Association to issue a memo to its members suggesting they prepare themselves with naloxone kits.

Krausz said the risks to funeral workers is not high since fentanyl’s potency has probably decreased by the time morticians come in contact with the cadaver.
