Health-care staff hesitant to give flu vaccine to pregnant women

Kelowna Now reported on research from UBC’s Okanagan campus that found health-care professionals are hesitant to administer the flu vaccine to pregnant women.

“The World Health Organization and Health Canada have classified pregnant women as one of the highest at-risk groups of having serious complications following influenza infection,” said Marie Tarrant, director of the school of nursing at UBC’s Okanagan campus.
