MSN published a CBC story quoting Jennifer Shapka, a UBC professor in the department of educational and counselling psychology, after footage of an Abbotsford school stabbing circulated online.

She discussed the traumatic impacts of posting and watching violent video.

“That experience is permanent once you put it online, and stays in that original, most potent form every time you see it,” Shapka said.
