Chinese investors turn their attention to B.C.’s tech sector

MSN published a Vancouver Sun story quoting Tony Bi, a UBC chemical and biological engineering professor, after several Vancouver-based technology funding initiatives featuring Chinese investors met to discuss linking China’s market size and investment capital with top Canadian technology.

“We can’t just bury ourselves in our own research,” said Bi who is also the associate director of the Clean Energy Research Centre. “We have to look at what other people are doing, and what their needs are. This (meeting) is a platform for this, to push technology to market, to reach larger scales. This allows us to work together to create solutions to environmental problems that are facing Canadian and Chinese societies today.”
