UBC research shows that two out of 10 online articles about preventing Alzheimer’s disease are actually marketing ploys designed to sell products such as vitamin supplements, reports the Vancouver Sun.

The team looked at 290 online articles found through Google searches.

“The few websites offering high-quality information can be hard to distinguish from the many low-quality websites offering information that can be potentially harmful,” said UBC neurology professor Julie Robillard.
