Comox-Helmcken Greenway well worth the investment

Vancouver Sun reported on a UBC report of the effect of the Comox-Helmcken greenway on residents in the surrounding areas. The study was led by Larry Frank, with the school of population and public health and the school of community and regional planning at UBC.

“We found significant increases in active transportation — cycling and walking — and a significant decline in driving. The number of daily bike trips went up by 32 per cent, and the number of daily automobile trips went down by 23 per cent,” Frank said.
