High-potency pot poses risks to the developing brain

UBC clinical assistant professor in the department of psychiatry Diane McIntosh wrote an op-ed for the Vancouver Sun about the risks of marijuana to the developing brain.

“I am concerned about the number of patients that have become chronic pot smokers to get to sleep or to manage anxiety without an adequate trial of treatments that have actual evidence for their efficacy,” McIntosh wrote.

The story also appeared in the Montreal Gazette.
