Experts wary of electrical brain stimulation at home

Home use of electrical brain stimulators is increasing, but a UBC psychiatry professor cautions that many of these devices are unregulated, the Vancouver Sun reported.

“You may feel just a tingling sensation, so the perception is of low risk, in part because of that,” said UBC’s Fidel Vila-Rodriguez, who uses stimulators licensed by Health Canada in his lab.
