The Zika crisis — Ethics advisory meets travel advisory

Julie Robillard, Jordan Tesluk and Judy Illes, members of UBC’s National Core for Neuroethics responded to the growing Zika crisis with a call for prosperous nations to examine their responsibilities toward developing countries confronted by the epidemic.

In a Province op-ed, the academics said countries like Canada should “share the medical technology accumulated during global prosperity” and consider more aid for countries affected by Zika and the resulting neurodevelopmental disorders.

The op-ed also appeared in the Edmonton Journal and Star Phoenix.
