An interview with SALA alumnus: How to build a career in urban development

Robert Freedman, a former director of Urban Design for the City of Toronto and graduate of UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, is heading a consulting business advising public and private clients, governments and developers on how to develop cities and neighbourhoods that are economically successful and provide value to their surrounding area. Freedman began his education in arts and law during a time when education programs in urban design didn’t exist.  He explains how his untraditional path led to his career in this interview.
