Media are invited to the official opening ceremony and tour of the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health. A short speaking program will be followed by a media tour of research and clinical facilities.
The DMCBH is the largest integrated brain centre in Canada and brings together scientists and healthcare professionals from neurology, neuroscience and psychiatry under one roof. It will house clinics for Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and mood disorders as well as world-class research programs.
Media tour will highlight latest research in two-photon microscopy that shows, in video, how a special type of brain cells – called glial cells –repair the brain after damage, and a new infusion room that improves the experience of MS patients who may receive intravenous medication infusions for up to eight hours at a time.
