Minerva Foundation for B.C. Women celebrates “Women In” Science

The Minerva Foundation for B.C. Women has announced the leading British Columbian women who will be honoured for their impact in the science industry at the eighth annual “Women In™” Science luncheon on Nov. 27. All four honourees are members of the UBC community.

• Community Leadership and Excellence Awards: Dr. Pauline Johnson, Department of Microbiology and Immunology and Lia Merminga, Head of the Accelerator Division for TRIUMF, currently working with the University of Victoria and UBC to launch Canada’s first advanced-degree program in accelerator science and technology.

• Philanthropy or Volunteerism Award: Dr. Carol Lane, clinician neuroscientist and assistant clinical professor in the Division of Clinical Neuroscience, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine.
