Theatre and film prof, alumnus open film in TIFF and VIFF

Writer-director Bruce Sweeney, a UBC Theatre & Film alumnus, will launch his new comedy, The Dick Knost Show, at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). A made-in-Vancouver movie about a hockey talk show host, it stars Theatre & Film associate professor Tom Scholte as a caustic sports talk show host who faces his karma when he mocks the dangers of concussions and suffers a head injury himself.

Vancouver audiences will be able to see the film at the Vancouver International Film Festival later this month. For more on the film, view the trailer or follow @DickKnostShow on Twitter.
