Don Mavinic, a UBC civil engineering professor, is turning waste water into environmentally-friendly fertilizer, reports National Geographic.
Mavinic and his research associate, Fred Koch, have figured out a way to alter the phosphorus balance of the waste water to produce pellets that can be used to enrich soils.
