UBC professor receives funding for China research
Assist. Prof. Zhichun Jing, Canada Research Chair in Pacific Asia Archaeology, is part of a team recently awarded a three-year grant from the Henry Luce Foundation of New York for a collaborative research program between UBC, Peking University and the Institute of Archaeology at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. They will examine the human and social dynamics of early Bronze Age (second millennium B.C.) societies in the Yangzi and Huanghe regions of China.

Campus and Community Planning moves to Admin and Finance
Assoc. VP Nancy Knight and her Campus and Community Planning team will report to Terry Sumner, VP Administration and Finance, effective Aug. 15. As consultation and community relations are an integral part of Planning, they will work closely with Stephen Owen, the new VP External and Community Relations.
UBC announces reopening of West Coast Suites
West Coast Suites, a limited service 47-suite hotel on UBC’s Point Grey campus, will officially reopen on Aug. 1 after an extensive renovation. The Suites are located at 5961 Student Union Boulevard.
