Event: Annual mock disaster exercise

The University of British Columbia Dept. of Health, Safety
and the Environment will be staging a mock disaster to test
various emergency response services on campus and the surrounding
neighbourhood.
The exercise involves a release of smoke in the south campus
area. Response will include use of a helicopter and a hovercraft,
as well as fire trucks, police vehicles and ambulances. All
vehicles will employ sirens.
The annual exercise is carried out with the assistance of
local first responders as well as Ministry of Forests (Protection),
Canadian Coast Guard and the Greater Vancouver Regional District.
