In 1915, UBC opened its doors to 379 students and 34 faculty
on an operating budget of $175,000.
Now, UBC has more than 37,000 students and about 2,000 faculty
while operating on a budget of about $1 billion. Classroom
space continues to be one of the university’s top priorities.
