The foyer of War Memorial Gym will be the setting for UBC’s annual Remembrance
Day ceremony Nov. 11 beginning at 10:45 a.m.
Barry McBride, vice-president, Academic, Brian Fraser, dean of St. Andrews
Hall and Alma Mater Society President Vivian Hoffmann will participate in the
ceremony. Retired Nursing faculty member Helen Shore will talk on the role of
nurses in the Second World War.
Representatives from 14 campus and community groups will lay wreaths to honour
the fallen members of Canada’s Armed Forces. Coffee and cake will be served
immediately following the service.
Approximately 350 people attended the Remembrance Day ceremonies last year.
