Students go global at congress

UBC students will host an international conference next August
to gather ideas for presentation to the 1999 Commonwealth Heads
of Government meeting to be held in Cape Town, South Africa. The
Commonwealth Universities’ Student Congress is expected to draw
200 student delegates from 54 Commonwealth countries. Congress organizer,
Christopher Gorman, a fourth-year Political Science and History
student, says the congress will be an opportunity for his generation
to have input into decisions being made on an international level.
