Research by Liane Gabora, a psychology professor at UBC’s Okanagan campus, was featured in an Economic Times India article about a theory behind humour.
Gabora said funniness emerges from an interaction between the underlying nature of the joke, the listener’s cognitive state, and other social and environmental factors.
