Breastfeeding versus pumped breast milk?

Hindustan Times featured research from UBC’s Okanagan campus that examined infant feeding practices of mothers living in Hong Kong.

The researchers found that new mothers were increasingly using pumped or expressed breast milk instead of directly breastfeeding their babies.

“Although expressed breast-milk feeding provides greater benefits than infant formula, bottle-feeding may increase the risk of respiratory issues, asthma, rapid weight gain and oral diseases,” said researcher Marie Tarrant, director of nursing at UBCO.
