The Miami Herald interviewed Stanley Coren, a UBC professor emeritus of psychology, about the issues that come with visiting friends with pets around the holidays. He said a simple command like “sit” from a guest will help in managing dog behaviour.
Coren also spoke to Roundhouse Radio about the pitfalls of bringing a puppy into a house at Christmas.
“When you bring a puppy into a home, the puppy has to learn the rules,” he said. “[During holidays] you really don’t have that much time to spend with the dog to get it sort of acclimated.”
