Work by Joerg Bohlmann, a professor at UBC’s Michael Smith Laboratories, was mentioned in a Digital Journal story on biotechnology’s role in the fragrance industry.
Bohlmann used yeasts to produce sandalwood oil by using a genetic extract of Santalum album.
