The Vancouver Sun reports on Prime Minister Trudeau’s upcoming divisive decision on oilsands pipelines, and quotes UBC’s George Hoberg, a professor of environmental and natural resource policy.
Trudeau heard internally that he will need the huge tax revenues from the construction and operation of a major pipeline to afford his agenda.
“But in the not-too-distant, future big decisions will have to be made that will upset one or more powerful constituencies,” Hoberg said. “To govern is to choose.”
