News and University Affairs conveys news and information about UBC to the public and the university community.

Our team handles media relations, internal communications and institutional storytelling.

We work closely with UBC’s executives and administrators to communicate publicly on behalf of the university about institutional matters. We also work with faculty members and other UBC scholars to draw public attention to newsworthy research findings, projects and people.

We collaborate with the UBC Okanagan newsroom to serve journalists who contact the university in search of information and/or expertise.

We are part of the broader UBC Communications portfolio, which also includes Brand and Marketing, and Strategic Communications.
