B.C. art exhibit focuses on ocean plastics in effort to highlight environmental damage

The Globe and Mail spoke to UBC graduate student Vanessa Fladmark for an article about an art exhibit that highlights the environmental damage by plastics.

“We’re finding an absurd amount in remote areas. They have the huge [debris] items and they have microplastics that just cover the sand,” she said, about her research into plastic debris along B.C.’s shorelines.
